Don’t Let Your Limiting Beliefs Ruin Your LIFE (And Waste Your Time)

I look so ugly, no guy will ever want me.
I’m stupid.
Nobody will like me if they know how stupid I am. I have to hide it
I’m not good enough.
Others are better then me.
I don’t compare to her.
I can’t write.
Everything good happens to others not me.
I hate this, nothing every works out.
I hate my freckles, why can’t I have nice skin like her.Nothing fits, I’m not going. I’ll go next time. When I look better. (Which often meant not going anywhere).

This is how I lived. Inside my head. For so long. Beliefs like this I KNEW weren’t doing me much good, but for most of my twenties I believed they were simply part of life and I had to live with them. In my mid-twenties after I had had ENOUGH of struggling I decide I wasn’t going to just live with these thoughts and negative feelings about myself.

I took a big leap, I searched everywhere for ways to change my beliefs. I found great techniques and leaders like NLP, REIKI, Silvia, Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson and I was amazed by the changes that were happening in my life following the work and daily practices I was learning from these teachers. Feeling powerful in the creation of my new set of beliefs, I was delighted to witness that new opportunities and abundance started to grow.

However, I found I still had a core of anger deep within me and that the old beliefs still stuck aroundas if waiting for a ‘bad day’ when my guard was down and wooooosh. I was back to feeling ugly, not good enough, inner hatred, in 2 seconds flat. I would simply collapse again into my old patterning, letting go of all my good thoughts and intentions. I would then feel defeated.

The good news is with some information and understanding around the anatomy of beliefs system, you can ‘whoosh’ these old patterns back away again but not in the way you might think. So much focus is ‘out there’ in the self-help world that suggests we need to ignore, quieten or positive think limiting beliefs away, but I found over and over that doing so meant, they never really GO AWAY.

Decisions chart top viewSo I DECIDED to make it my mission to look directly at my beliefs and the beliefs of my clients, observe them, be intrigued, curious, and see if I could crack the code in what makes it’s so difficult to set them free!

I now know that I created these beliefs about myself for personal evolution and ignoring them prevented me getting to the bottom of what they wanted to teach me.

I have observed that when I am faced with a ‘challenge’ or ‘confrontation’ or a chance to ‘put myself out there’ that these negative beliefs showed up often with huge intensity.

Our mind fears the unknown if it doesn’t feel very safe to us. We could be hurt, ridiculed, rejected, or embarrassed. So our mind , that has a very clear mission ’to keep us safe’ will then do everything in it’s power to distract us, so that we don’t endure any of those things . This is likely because we have endured them before, they were awful and we swore we wouldn’t let that happen to us again.Illustration_How-the-process-works

WHY?

The real or perceived threat becomes stored into the memory of the ‘Amygdala'(small brain) and not in our normal everyday ‘thinking memory'(big brain or Neo-Cortex). This is for survival, so that next time our body in milli-seconds can respond and be ready to a similar danger without any logical thinking process, which takes to long. It’s an automatic response. This is why we can recall traumatic memories like they have happened a couple months ago, when in reality they might have happened years ago. The ‘Amygdala’ has it stored. This is also why, when you see a war veteran that comes home and he hears a car backfire, his ‘Amygdala’ goes in to action, and produces an automatic response without thinking, even for years after. (also called Amygdala Hijacking)

When the Neo-Cortex(thinking brain) can process fully that the environment is safe, with no threat any more, the ‘Amygdala’ can in a sense pass on the memory to the normal functioning memory (in third brain) and treat it as a harmless incident and react accordingly. In my search to find a process to access the hidden limiting beliefs I founded the Focus Intention Technique(FIT) in order to directly banish blocks easily. The FIT process address’s this problem. This is what makes FIT different than most therapies and why we get can get to the core and resolve the cause. The stages of the system move the location where the memory is stored, from Amygdala to the Neo-Cortex. Once this happens the event is updated in the brain and that event is no longer a trigger and a treat. When a person thinks about the event the emotional charge is gone and the limitations around it are gone and a person actually sees the event as being an asset to who and what they have come here to do. It’s truly magic and it can happen in less then one hour.

Anxiety and depression can occur when these reactions keep happening and we feel that we have no control. Our bodies/brains can be responding to things that are causing us to feel like we are not normal or crazy(like the army guy). In essence the ‘Amygdala’ can stay switched on all the time, its gets stuck in the ‘on’ position. The reasoning mind hasn’t been able to over-ride the switch. We can stay constantly stressed, because hormones and adrenaline keep getting sent through the body, and eventually become sick, run down, depressed and so on.

Some people can start to have panic attacks, and start to fear the responses these out of control signals from the Amygdala are causing in their bodies. Fearing that they may come at any time, they can end up having panic attacks about having a panic attack.

Another interesting thing to note is that animals that have been subject to prey by another animal, go into the same type of ‘freeze, fight or flight’. Fight or flight would use up the excess adrenaline, but in ‘freeze’ like most animals, that are caught, will go into shock. If they are able to get away from the attacker, they will shake until the excess hormones dissipate, then they go back to normal. Humans have this same mechanism for releasing shock and trauma after a threat has passed. It is supposed to be a normal process to eliminate excess hormones after the shock or trauma.
One of the expressions of the freeze response in humans is the phenomenon of dissociation. Dissociation is reflective of a state of shock, stunning, trance, numbing of emotion and cognitive fogging. Dissociation is physiologically the same as the freeze.

In the absence of this freeze discharge, the ‘energy’ of the intense arousal associated with the threat and attempted escape remains bound in the body and brain, leading to a host of abnormal symptoms. Repeated freeze events without discharge seemed to be cumulative, adding to a progressive worsening of symptoms and to the development of progressive helplessness in the face of threat.

If a similar event triggers a smell, a sound, a song triggers feelings of helplessness which flips on the fight and flight switch. The real or perceived threat is stored into the memory of the ‘Amygdala'(small brain) and not in our normal everyday ‘thinking memory'(big brain or Neo-Cortex).

Following the process it allows for a discharge of the freeze response and a completion of this instinctive cycle in a safe, natural and effective manner. When the real or perceived threat is completed the memory that was stored in ‘Amygdala'(small brain) discharges/releases and shifts to our normal everyday ‘thinking memory'(big brain or Neo-Cortex) allowing for a complete shift in perception and the symptoms related to memory. This discharge and release brings harmony and balance to the three energy centers and expands the energy field.
When the FIT method is used to guide clients they experience a dramatic clearing of their symptoms related to that event and a total shift in perception.

Each stage and step in the Focused Intention Technique plays a key role in completing and releases the stuck memory and energy in Amygdala(small brain).

Because we fall into feeling of helplessness when Amygdala get switched it kicks in the defense mechanisms which can prevent us from dealing with the situation. We become victims of our helplessness and keep looping and we stay stuck in our fear instead of addressing and core issue.

So, what’s the solution?

The solution involves getting to know yourself, building rapport with your inner self (subconscious), taking consistent action and giving yourself the gift of your own full acceptance.

Heart fueled blessings,
