You are going to spend some time with me drinking margaritas and planning your business. We are going to change your money mindset so that by the time we’re done, you can start earning the money that you desire.

You sail across the high seas and when you arrive on my beautiful island and come ashore, we hug and kiss, and then I suddenly announce to the captain “Captain, burn the boat!”

What? Burn the boat? You look at me as if I am crazy. You threaten me. You yell at me. “Why are we burning the boat? We have to go back!”

Then I say, “There’s no going back until you have made this work. There is no back door, no escape route here. It’s a commitment. We are in this for the long haul.”

How do you feel now? Are you scared? Are you nervous?

Welcome to the Island of Committed Decisions.

You say you want big results in your business. You say you’ll do whatever it takes. Well, ALL results start with making a decision.

When you make committed decisions, solutions come to you, the money shows up, and the support you need comes to you — all in perfect time.

Where in your business have you not made a committed decision? Where are your results showing up differently? Have you been struggling? Have you decided to be broke? Have you been surfing from one free teleclass to the next and piecing everything together yourself as a way to gather information to grow your business? Has it worked?

The number one cause of business failure is the inability to make quick decisions. Broke people are slow to make decisions and change their minds often. Successful people make decisions quickly and stand behind their decisions. They don’t have a “Plan B”. They burn the boat.

Over the next series of posts we are going to dissect a decision, look at what a committed decision is, how to know if you have made a committed decision, and how to make committed decisions.

Before I go, here is an exercise: Get into a quiet place and think of a time when you made a committed decision. Notice how it feels in the body. Where do you feel it? Find words to describe the feeling of making a firm decision.

Now think of a time when you were indecisive. You did not make an empowered, committed decision. What does it feel like in your body? Where do you feel it? Give the feeling a name.

Share your comments below. How does it feel when you’ve made a firm decision vs. when you are indecisive?
