What is the weather like?
In April typically warm during the day and a bit cold at night.
It can rain, so a small rain shower can be expected every day. But the sun always shines again soon after.
Please check www.yr.no for a long term weather forecast for your retreat.
What to bring?
* Sunscreen with a high factor, sunscreen lip balm, and a hat/ sunglasses
* Good hiking boots
* Walking poles
* Raincoat or rain poncho
* Notebook
* ” Warm ” Flashlight for the evening, not a bright LED one.
* Personal water container, to avoid plastic bottles and garbage.
* Warm clothes for the evening. And hot water bottle to sleep with.
* Camera/phone and charger
* Passport
* Money/ cards
* Bathing suit for the hot springs in Machu Picchu
* Health Insurance
I have a special diet, can I still come?
Yes, please let us know in advance your dietary restrictions and we will assist you.
What about the altitude? Is it likely I will get altitude sickness?
Pisac is at 2850 m and Cusco is at 3500 m, so it is not likely you will get altitude sickness.
Is there a lot of hiking involved in this retreat?
We will be hiking down the mountain from the Pisac Ruins, around the lakes which generally takes a couple of hours of slow walking. We will also be hiking Machu Picchu. In addition, we will be walking while seeing various ruins. The amount of hiking will be suitable for most people.
Do you have private accommodation options?
We offer accommodation in double room, triple room and we have a few single rooms. Please request what you prefer.
It is first to come, first get.
All rooms have showers with hot water connected.
Do you have wifi at the accommodation?
Yes, there is wifi at all the accommodation. But just know because of the mountains internet connect in Peru is not very good.
I want to bring a present?
Sometimes people want to bring a present.
For local kids:
– pencil crayons – school items
Tipping
It is respectful to tip the guide 10 to 15 USD per day so around $100 USD will be good for the 7 days. Please plan for this and I’ll collect the money near the end of the journey. Gracias.
